9:30AM is too early to have an exhibition opening. Nevertheless we somehow managed to make it to ARCAM for the kick-off of the new round of Edits. After cigarettes, juice, croissants and powerpoint the party was moved to Amsterdam CS where the work is on display.

Our piece is an infographic remix of the Amsterdam Hortus Botanicus, the botanical garden here in the city center which sports a rich history going on almost 400 years. We’ve taken some of the more interesting plants, buildings, facts & figures, and arranged them loosely in chronological order around their relevant spots on an abstracted map, producing a growth of data that shows the development of the gardens, blooming at the top into their current specialities & so called ‘crown jewels’.

We were interviewed as well, footage of that will be online somewhere at some time, we’ll let you know as soon as find out when & where (e: here it is). Just before the above shot was taken we heard someone in the crowd loudly complain; ‘That’s not even art!’, which is totally awesome. Thanks lady, we aim to make you at least have an opinion.
You can download the work as a desktop background from the n8 Edits site.
The works by the other artists are also all available, click through the thumbnails to reach their respective pages:
Thanks to Nick, Radna, Geer, any and all involved with getting this exhibition set up, we’re happy to have work running in it. But next time please have the opening about 8 hours later & maybe add alcohol. :p
UPDATE: A new set of pics of the Exhibition were just uploaded on the n8 flickr: Edits: 30 meter nieuw design op CS
